SA push for marriage equality

The fight for marriage equality entered the state arena yesterday with the Greens and Labor announcing they would introduce a same-sex marriage bill.
The move by Greens MLC Tammy Franks and Labor MLC Ian Hunter follows similar Bills in Tasmania and Victoria. A Marriage Equality Bill has been tabled in Federal Parliament but progress has stalled, with both major parties refusing to support it.
